K-12 Teacher Institute in Panama · June 18-28, 2022 Central America: People and the Environment When: June 18-28, 2022 Where: Panama City, Panama During June 18-28, 2022 Tulane, Vanderbilt, and UGA carried out the final installment of our “Central America: People and the Environment” professional development summer series for educators! Teachers heard from local experts to deepen their understanding of the historic connections between the US and Central America through the Panama Canal, as well as local histories, culture, and the ecological systems on which diverse Panamanian communities depend. Participants also worked with Tulane University curriculum specialist Brooke Grant to develop materials and strategies for classroom incorporation of content.
