Latin American Ethnobotanical Garden

Outreach - Sarah J. Gonzales Park

The Sara J. Gonzales Park located in Atlanta Georgia houses a garden dedicated to Officer Edgar Flores. Officer Flores was killed while on duty in December 2018. This historic garden commemorates Latinx Officers Flores life and service to the community. He was a selfless individual, prioritizing the police force, family, and faith. This garden exists to celebrate his life.

The garden is home to plants native to Latin American and is the first of its kind in Atlanta. More information about the garden is available on the gardens website and Facebook page.
