Associate Professor, School of Environmental, Civil, Agricultural, and Mechanical Engineering David Emory Stooksbury is a founding member of UGA's College of Engineering and the Atmospheric Sciences Program. Educated as an agricultural climatologist, his research includes the impact of climate on agricultural systems, solar and wind energy resources assessment, water resources and drought, and international engineering education. He is one of the coordinators of the UGA Engineering + Spanish and Engineering + German Programs. Professor Stooksbury served as the State Climatologist of Georgia from 1999 until 2011. His educational background includes a B.S.A. (plant genetics), B.S.P.A. (physics and astronomy), M.S. (agronomy) all from the University of Georgia, M.A.S. (applied statistics) from Penn State, and Ph.D. (environmental sciences) from the University of Virginia.
