Image: Congratulations to Dr. Sharina Maíllo-Pozo, LACSI Core Faculty, recently promoted to Associate Professor in the Department of Romance Languages at the University of Georgia, for obtaining the Consortium of Latin American Studies Programs (CLASP) 2025 Faculty Teaching Award! This is a major national and interdisciplinary distinction that included early-career faculty nominations from over thirty US institutions. The award considered documented excellence in teaching courses designated for Latin American Studies, evidence of student success, and sample course materials, in addition to demonstrated community engagement and professional service.
